EVERY DAY MORE THAN 50,000 OHIOANS RELY on Medicaid to pay for the care they receive in skilled nursing facilities ...

but Medicaid funding hasn't kept up with the costs of providing that care. Over the last five years, the Consumer Price Index has climbed more than three times as much (19%) as the rate increases for Ohio's skilled nursing facilities (6%). At the same time, patients are needing more care, which requires more staff time; medical supply costs also have jumped significantly.
